About

Hi! My name is Linda and I have been a quilter for 40 years, and am the happy owner of Log Cabin Quilt'N Sew.  I first began sewing at 6 years old because all of the women in my family sewed, embroidered, cross stitched, knitted, crocheted, and quilted. My mother had a circa 1950 Singer sewing machine that sat in our family room where she taught me to sew my own clothes. I was very proud of the skill in creating something of beauty and functionality from a piece of cloth.

My grandmother began teaching me to hand-embroider quilt blocks when I was 10 and that was my introduction to the world of quilting. Fast-forward to my early 20's when I had a wooden quilt frame in my family room and my 3 toddlers played cars and camping underneath while I was hand-quilting my latest creation for one of them. That was in the early 1980's when quilting as an art experienced a cultural renaissance of sorts. Many of the young moms in my social group were learning to quilt and I was teaching color techniques, quilt piecing and hand-quilting classes at the local Edwardsville Quilt Shop.

It wasn't until the mid-1990's that I learned about machine free-motion quilting and long-arm quilting.  The new technology opened up a world of creative options for me because you could now start and finish so many more projects!!  Like many of you, through the years I had to squeeze in my quilting addiction on weekends and evenings in between raising children and working out of the home.  I'm delighted to say that God blessed me with the ability to retire from one job and devote my productive hours full time to Log Cabin Quilt'N Sew! I couldn't be happier and dearly love to help others envision their projects finished and bring it to completion.

Professionally, I stay on top of the latest techniques by attending machine quilting conferences and participating in professional Quilt guilds and clubs. Also, I am a member of the Colorado Quilt Council and the International Machine Quilters Association (IMQA).

Log Cabin Quilt'N Sew specializes in wide-back quilt fabrics from your favorite designers--stocking over 400 bolts--and full service long-arm quilting services to meet every need and budget. No question or project is too small to help you turn your quilt project from an idea to a finished product.  Also, for your convenience we provided a page to explain how the process works, how to prepare your quilt to ensure the best possible outcome, and a price estimation guide.
