Culinary Corner

With summer comes time for barbeques, so here is a delicious recipe for corn on the cob on the grill.

  Ingredients

  • Several ears of corn shucked
  • Butter and/or olive oil
  • Any other seasoning you prefer
  • Salt
  • Aluminum Foil

Directions

  1. Preheat grill to high.
  1. Prepare the ears for the grill by shucking and wrapping tightly in foil. The foil will steam the kernels much like the husk does making the corn tender and juicy.  If you prefer charred kernels, season the corn with olive oil.
  1. Place the corn on the grill grates and cook for 15-20 minutes.  Turn the corn occasionally with tongs.
  1. While the corn is still hot, brush with butter and season with salt or your favorite seasoning.

Today’s Tips, Tricks & Techniques - How to fold a quilt for storage

To fold a quilt for storage, you can use the diagonal fold technique or follow these step-by-step instructions.

  1.  Lay your quilt on a large, flat surface with the bottom side up.
  1.  Fold on the bias by picking one of the bottom corners of the laid quilt and folding it over the quilt and laying it over the upper edge of the quilt.
  1. Fold the quilt in half lengthwise, matching up the edges as closely as possible.
  1. Create a tent shape by bringing up the corner.
  1. Fold inwards and compact for storage.
  1. Smooth out any creases or bumps to ensure the quilt stays in good condition.

Another way is to roll the material into thirds and tuck the edges under.

Happy Quilting!
